Greenacres PTA

We are fortunate at Greenacres to have a parent-teacher association that’s an integral part of the school community. Over the last 5 years we have raised more than £13,000, thanks to the generosity of our families and the hard work of our volunteers. 

But our association is about much more than simply fundraising. We exist to promote closer links between home and school and to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. All members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if you only have a small amount of time available. It’s fun too—just ask any of our volunteers!

Support our fundraising 

We’ve partnered with a number of organisations that will make free donations to us every time you shop with them—all at no cost to you!

Charitable objectives

‘Greenacres PTA’ is the operating name of Greenacres Home School Association, a charity registered in England and Wales (Registered Charity No. 1114887).

Our mission is to support and advance the education and wellbeing of pupils at our school by: (i) providing them with engaging experiences which support their learning and increase their cultural capital; (ii) initiating community activities which bring staff, parents and the wider school community together; and (iii) providing facilities and/or equipment which support the school and enhance pupil wellbeing.

Public Benefit Statement

Annual community events, like our Christmas and Summer fairs, build relationships and a sense of belonging and may act as a stepping stone for increased parent/carer engagement in school life which, research shows, can contribute to increased attainment and better outcomes for children. 

We fund educational experiences which build cultural capital and give our children advancements that they may not otherwise have received and over recent years we raised £10,000 to purchase a new ‘trim-trail’ for our KS2 playground.

Greenacres has a big focus on outdoor learning and, as part of an ongoing drive to improve teaching and learning in science beyond the curriculum, they have started their own fruit and vegetable garden ‘Grown@Greenacres’. We are supporting this both financially and through volunteering.

We also fund additional classroom resources such as book areas, cooking ingredients or craft supplies, which contribute to a more rounded educational experience for the children.


A small group of parent/carer volunteers helps to organise and run events with additional support from school staff. Elected officers are responsible for governance and management of the association.
